JOURNEY IN KENYA

To date, over 1500 facilities are providing PrEP in 47 counties to various populations in Kenya. Since the approval of oral PrEP by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the recommendation by WHO on the use of PrEP in 2012, Kenya rolled out PrEP through partner demonstration projects. The Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board approved the distribution of PrEP in 2015. Oral PrEP was then included in the National ART guidelines in July 2016. In May 2017, the National official scale up of PrEP was carried out in Kenya.
